apartment renovation in Maroussi

The challenge of this project was to modify the appearance of the exotic wood staircase connecting the main level with the upper floor.

Imposing in its shape and visually perceptible from the apartment’s entrance door, the rustic staircase was given a more refined look. The curves and roundness were softened, and a series of frames defining the start of the stairwell appeared. Transparency was maintained, and a base was added to form part of this functional puzzle.

The traditional wooden railings were replaced with solid, light-colored walls to accentuate the relationship between the two levels of the project by drawing in overhead light.

Upstairs, a kitchenette was designed and installed, adjoining the large 70m² furnished terrace.

The remaining work consisted of the complete renovation of the apartment; the floors were repaired, sanded, and sealed.
